ABOUT US

In January, a group of us from Cedarbrook Church partnered with Honduras Well Projects to build a well for a community with limited access to clean water. It was a life changing trip where we saw God working in so many ways. We faced a setback on the first day of drilling, but God came through and the next day we drilled over 200 feet with no issues. The pure joy on the kids’ faces when we struck water made all the work worth it. Throughout the entire trip our anthem was “Glory to God.” We built faith-filled relationships with our team members and our Honduran friends. The trip has given our team a greater heart to serve, and we have been doing so locally since being home. We left Honduras feeling grateful for the opportunity to serve, but we feel like the work isn’t done. God is on the move in the Honduran community, and we strongly believe we are called to go back.

Currently, the youth in the community must walk 3-5 miles each morning to catch a bus that takes them to school. Many of the Honduran kids wear rubber sandals that are not fit for this distance, and they walk in the heat of the sun, some days surpassing 100 degrees. After arriving there we discovered in the heart of the community lies an untouched acre field passionately preserved by the locals who envision it as the future site for a school. While on our trip, the community leaders approached our team to engage in discussion and prayer regarding their vision.

After lots of prayer and petition our team decided God has called us back. As a team, our goal is to raise $30,000. This money includes the cost of materials and labor for a four-classroom school building. Once the money is raised and the school is built, the municipality of El Progresso is going to provide teachers, electricity, and desks for the students. This school will serve 100+ students and will impact the community for generations to come. As the building project nears completion, our team will pay our own way to be a part of the final weeks of construction, once again sharing the love of Christ with this community. With your support of this tournament we are hoping to make a large portion of our funds!
